Our desire is to see lives changed for the glory of God. We want to help parents pass the baton of faith to the teens they are educating at home. As sons and daughters of the King of kings, we impart a well-rounded education to our high school students. From graduation requirements to making transcripts, from creating classes to book lists, from relationships to getting ready for the real world, we exist to serve you in your homeschool adventure.
The Bible is our blueprint for living. It works! If you want good results and good fruit in your home, let us share with you things God has showed us along the way.
If you are looking for an impersonal conference with lots of information, Finish Well is not for you. Now, don’t get me wrong. There is a lot of information to digest. But, we have a different vision than most conferences. We want to get to know you personally if we can. We want the opportunity to encourage you, to challenge you, and to pray with you. As brothers and sisters in Christ, we want to cheer you on!
Where’s Our Heart?
“Keep your heart with all diligence, for out of it spring the issues of life” (Prov. 4:23, KJV). The most important thing we can do is have our hearts right with God. If everyone in our families focuses on loving and obeying the Lord, many of the problems and challenges in our life will take care of themselves.
So how did the conference get started? Let’s go back in time to 2009. Meredith joined two other amazing homeschool moms to do a workshop on homeschooling high school at the local library.
“How did it go?” Pastor Mike asked his wife.
“I was so frustrated. They asked all the wrong questions.” she replied. “They were asking about sports and credits and SATs, but not about how to prepare their kids to have good marriages or how to keep their kids from falling away from Christ. It breaks my heart to hear so much about Christian homeschool grads who have fallen away from the Lord. I wish there was something I could do to help parents raise children who love Jesus and will be faithful to Him.”
“You’re right about those being the more important questions, but their other questions are important too. Why don’t we have a day of workshops to answer all the questions that people have about homeschooling high school?”
And Finish Well was born. Powerline Community Church chipped in, and soon we were hosting our first conference.
