"Do you not know that those who run in a race all run, but only one receives the prize?
Run in such a way that you may win." » I Corinthians 9:24
Steven

I thought it was going to be like any other day. Then the unthinkable happened, and my life changed drastically. This is the story of how Jesus healed me!

Stone Rolled Away

Do you find yourself in a tomb with a stone rolled into place blocking your path to freedom? You, unlike Jesus, do not have the power to push the stone away. Nevertheless, you do have resurrection power at your disposal. Do you need a stone rolled away?

As believers, we have two choices: Take God at His word or don’t. There is no middle ground. Either the entire Bible is God-inspired and infallible and still applicable to us today, or it’s not. If we start picking and choosing what we want out of the Word of God, then arguments could be made for every verse in it to be thrown out.

Very often we think of ourselves as the main character in our own personal drama. Everyone has one and you need to be the star of your own! Wrong. If life is a drama, Christ is the main character. He is the one that the focus is on, He is the one that triumphs in the end, and He will take the center bow.

God can use betrayals to refine us, to show us our own weaknesses, to help us understand God’s might in a greater way, to help us understand how we’ve truly betrayed Him, and to help others as they go through betrayal because they have seen us go through it in a godly way.

Even though hurt and betrayal are to be expected in this life on earth, our hearts and emotions rebel against it. Our mind may tell us that we should expect it, but our heart continues to yearn for perfection with Jesus, where there is no pain or tears. That is the contradiction that we live with. We can live completely according to Scripture, but that will not protect us from being betrayed. And sometimes by those closest to us.
